Max is als filosoof werkzaam bij ArtEZ en is lid van de onderzoeksgroep Cultural and Creative Industries bij the Centre of Applied Research for Art, Design and Technology. Daarnaast is hij medeoprichter van de culturele broedplaats De Nijmeegse Stadsnomaden. Filosofisch houdt hij zich bezig met provocatie, kunst en alternatieve stadsontwikkeling.
